Old San Antonio Hospital Grounds

I had the pleasure of organizing a picnic on the grounds of the historic San Antonio Hospital in Upland. We hosted a dinner for 70 people under a beautiful arbor and got to tour the historic property (for more information on Upland History and old homes, check out my other blog, http://uplandvintagehome.blogspot.com/).

Although the grounds are not officially open to receptions, the owners are willing to work with brides one on one to see if they can accommodate your party. It is a beautiful setting for both ceremony and/or reception.

William S Hart Park

William S Hart Park is located in Newhall, right where the 5 and 14 split. It is a beautiful ranch with wedding space up to 150. Lots of good photo opportunities!

A meeting hall has been built near the park entrance on San Fernando Road that will hold almost 300 people for meetings and about 150 for sit down dinners. The building was formerly a "pole barn" and is sometimes still affectionately referred to by that name -- the poles were incorporated as an architectural element and are still visible.
The Hart Hall can be rented for parties, meetings, weddings and community functions. Fees include set up and clean up. It includes a "caterer's kitchen," a public address system and an outside patio. For information, call 661-259-0855

William S. Hart Park is less than an hour's drive from most areas of Los Angeles. It is the former home and ranch of William S. Hart, silent film cowboy star and director. The Museum sits atop a hill within a large park area. The Spanish colonial Revival style mansion contains original furnishings, an impressive collection of western art, mementos of early Hollywood and Native American artifacts. In addition, there is a furnished 1910 ranch house which is open for unguided tours. For more information, please call (661) 254-4584 or email us at information@hartmuseum.org.

Leo Carrillo Ranch- Carlsbad

Leo Carrillo Park is a beautiful Spanish setting for a wedding or special event in Carlsbad, CA. Full day rental, up to 250 people is only $1400 for non residents, and cheaper for residents! Partial rental of the property is cheaper and even a better deal!
Secluded in the heart of a magnificently landscaped 27-acre canyon, Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park is the perfect location for your outdoor wedding, reception, family reunion, corporate or non-profit fundraiser, or other special event.

Imagine a unique historic Spanish-rancho setting surrounded by romantic hand-crafted adobe buildings, red-tiled roofs, antique windmills, a reflecting pool and white sand beach, hidden courtyards, custom flagstone patios, wooden foot bridges, gently flowing creeks, and colorful peacocks. Mature pepper, sycamore, oak, dragon, and citrus trees; along with aloe vera, agave, bougainvillea, and blooming Birds of Paradise compliment the rancho's spectacular natural landscaping

Venue Highlight: John Rains House

Highlighting my favorite venue (ok, I am a little biased since I got married here!) the John Rains House in Rancho Cucamonga. It is a historic property dating to the 1860's with a huge lawn and plenty of parking. It is inexpensive to rent (about $150 an hour) and you can bring in all your own rentals and caterers. Also, the competition for the place is almost none to be found! They do about 2 weddings a year, so chances are your date is available.

Rain Plan

With all the rain we have been getting it is a good reminder to always have a back up plan in case it rains if you are using a outdoor location! No matter the time of year the weather can change in an instant, don't be caught without a Plan B on your wedding day!

Diamond Bar Center

One of my favorite venues! The Diamond Bar Center in Diamond Bar. Cost of $3200 to rent for a Saturday for 6 hours, includes, tables, chairs, dance floor, kitchen, etc. Wonderful to work with, plenty of parking and beautiful gardens. Diamond Bar residents get a price break of $800 so find a friend that lives in Diamond Bar, or make one!
